My name is Yunita Mowry (pronounced you-need-a), an entirely self-taught cake decorator. I love to bake and I started my career out of a simple wish: to make my daughter’s birthday cake every year.

I started baking commercially when we lived overseas, where I was given the opportunity to cater desserts at numerous events for American citizens abroad (let’s face it, it’s tough to find a good apple pie when you’re on another continent!) So when my family finally landed in Oklahoma, You Need a Cake was born — a  business based on a passion for baked goods, beautiful art, and happy moments.

Over the past 15 years I have watched so many clients get married, have children, and have watched those children grow up through yearly birthday cake orders. I consider them my “cake family”, and being a part of these special moments has become the heart of You Need a Cake. I’m so proud of what we do, and I can’t wait to meet our new clients soon!
